The Commission delegated Regulation (EU) n° 886/2013 of 15 May 2013 - called Regulation action "c" - is supplementing Directive 201/40/EU - called Directive ITS. This delegated Regulation precises data and procedures for the provision, where possible, of road safety-related minimum universal traffic information free of charge to users.
The list of road safety-related events or conditions covered consists of the 7 following categories, choosen by France :
- 1° temporary slippery road ;
- 2° animal, people, obstacles, debris on the road ;
- 3° unprotected accident area ;
- 4° short-term road works ;
- 5° reduced visibility ;
- 6° wrong-way driver ;
- 7° unmanaged blockage of a road.
The geographical scope of collect and broadcast for road operators is the national road network.
